Heidi Swenson

Heidi Swenson is an MS Ambassador. As an ambassador she is contracted to travel all over the United States, speaking to MS patients, their families and caregivers, and physicians about living well with Multiple Sclerosis. She has taken this opportunity to turn her presentations into motivational speeches, inspiring thousands across the country. As word spread about the impact she was having on the MS community, Heidi was asked to speak in front of thousands at her local National MS Society annual walk. This is where she realized motivational speaking was her calling in life and became her passion. Prior to public speaking, Heidi led a very private life. Through her travels and speeches, Heidi found she could relate to almost every individual she met through some past experiences in her life. She began to open up and share about previous incidents in her life and how she had triumphed over them, had learned to focus on the positive, embrace change, and leave the past behind her. This had an amazing affect on all she met. Besides living with MS since the age of 21, Heidi has battled numerous difficult life experiences ranging from overcoming emotional and sexual abuse (as an adult), being a single parent for 10 years, the daily battles with several auto-immune diseases, weight issues due to thyroid disease, depression; as well as severe financial hardships which led to loss of her home, car and eventually bankruptcy. In the midst of all of this, Heidi came to discover the most important lessons of her entire life. Heidi’s lessons on happiness, priorities, love, relationships, focus, change and so much more have become the heart of her talks. She inspires people to reevaluate their lives, goals, priorities and helps them to realize what is most important in this moment. For Heidi, Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning how to dance in the Rain!
