Hein Vandervoort

I have studied The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague back in the 80ths. My paintings where influenced by the journeys that I have made through the USA for a long time. In 2012 I have left this behind me. In my recent work my focus is more on how to paint the paintings that I am working on. The paintings are based mostly on my travels through The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. This combined with the things that I come across with, for instance fragments of religion, and history. Images of paths that are part of the long distance hikes that I make connect these subjects together at this moment in time. Painting is more an open space for me at the moment, I see wat comes without planning to much.
