H. Dan Hill
H. Dan Hill founded and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for Mach One Air Charters Inc., a Chino Hills, California, company. Mach One is made up of aviation professionals who possess experience in private aircraft management, sales, charters, and acquisitions. Mr. Hill believes that customer support and personalized service set his company apart from others, and he always places clients first. Dan Hill built Mach One from humble beginnings, when the company owned no aircraft and had one employee in 2006. Today, Mach One manages five jets and reported gross income of more than $5 million in 2010. H. Dan Hill possesses a long list of accomplishments and positions in the aviation industry and brings more than four decades of flying experience to his current post. In 1969, he acted as Copilot on a B-25 Mitchell Bomber during the filming of Catch-22 in Guaymas, Mexico. Later in 1969, he joined Cal State Airlines, a new, West Coast Reginal carrier as a First Officer to provide air service on the West Coast. Mr. Hill founded Pacific Coast Airlines in 1971; he acted as Vice President and Director of Flight Operations, instructed other pilots, and wrote all manuals for the company. Quite the entrepreneur, H. Dan Hill founded other companies from 1974 to 1978, including National Jet Industries Inc., Mational Aircraft Sales Inc. and Trans Catalina Airlines Inc. In 1984, Mr. Hill founded Westside Aviation Inc., a company that focused on buying and selling small business jets and turbo props. During this time, Mr. Hill also managed to hold down a full-time position with Western Air Lines, later becoming Delta Air Lines, Inc., from 1976 to 2004. He retired from Delta Air Lines as a Captain on the Boeing 767/757 in May of 2004. H. Dan Hill holds FAA Captain Ratings on the Beechcraft Hawker 1000, Cessna 500, Cessna 560XL Citation, McDonnell Douglas MD-11, Boeing 727, Boeing 767/757, Learjet 60, McDonnell Douglas DC-3 and McDonnell Douglas DC-9 ratings and boasts approximately 25,000 total flight hours.
