Howard (HF) Yambao is a Filipino independent filmmaker. He is featured as an emerging ASEAN filmmaker at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival in 2017. He apprenticed under master auteur Brillante Mendoza and trained under screenwriter Armando Lao, both staunch movers of new social realism and found-story filmmaking in the Philippines.

Previous to filmmaking, he worked as writer/ producer/ director for television, commercials, and audiovisual presentations — featuring lifestyle shows, reality series, music videos, and government advocacies. (Not to mention porn.)

He is also a disruptive marketing and digital PR consultant — concocting maverick campaigns for global companies and Filipino brands. He was awarded as a certified Social Innovator by the World Bank Institute in 2010.
