Herbert Eyre Moulton was a Renaissance Man par excellance. This page was created in memory of his life. Born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois on July 15th, 1927, he became a great opera and theatre fan early in life. He started performing and singing as a child, going on to sing at the Chicago Lyric Opera. During his time at Camp Gordon in Georgia during the Korean War, he worked as the conductor and musical supervisor of the Camp Gordon Chapel Choir. MCA Records promoted him as Herbert Moore and took him on national tours as a crooner. He worked in all Dublin theatres during his time in Ireland, filmed at Ardmore Studios in Bray. he married his future wife Gun Kronzell in 1966, touring with her internationally as THE SINGING COUPLE. In Ireland, Sweden and in the U.S. and at the Vienna's International and English Theatres, he played major roles in pieces by Gilbert & Sullivan, Verdi, Strauss, Shakespeare, Dickens, Albee, Ibsen, Ayckborn, Christie, Wilde, Goldoni and many more. For the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation he created, produced and starred in several hundred school radio programmes, included adaptations of Daphne de Maurier's and Edgar Allan Poe's plays. As a film actor, he worked with the likes of Clint Eastwood, Mickey Rourke, David Warner, Viggo Mortensen and Jeroen Krabbe. His eminent work as a commercial actor brought him Austrian fame, posing for TV commercials for banks, chocolate and cheese brands. Luciano Pavarotti once said: "Herbie, I am your biggest fan!"
