Sometimes the kid that draws becomes the explorer, the storyteller, the concept builder and the image maker. Illustration takes you to many imaginary worlds, in space, down a rabbit hole or on cloud nine.
I'm an illustrator, author, coffee lover, DIY'er, a positively optimistic creative type and author of Breaking Into Freelance Illustration: the guide for artists, designers, and illustrators. I was creatively schooled at NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and I've been an illustrator for over 20 years. My style is a colourful mixture of textures, lines and dots created traditionally and digitally with a focus on children's illustration, lifestyle, food & drink, humour & cartoons, character design, Teen & Young Adult, and Animals, Wildlife & Nature.
Top 5 favourite things: coffee, cool vintage collections, sand and surf, gouache and books.
Favourite things about illustration: working at home, the process, mentoring, endless learning, drawing, and doodling.
What you'll always hear me say: "Write that down!"
