"Anything great always starts with love," says soul-music aficionado, Vonnie "Honey" Woods, whose means of expressing her passion for the music and it's artists included hosting weekly internet shows (Soul 2 Soul on projectvibe.net and rawcast.com), a morning radio show (HoneySoul's Sunrise on 90.1 FM, KPFT Houston), and HoneySoul.com, a site that received visitors from around the world and won a "Best Music Blog" award. The site ranked as highly as #20 of out 198 million "soul music" searches on Google, and has been referenced and/or acknowledged by Prince's official site, Capital Records, Okayplayer, AOL Black Voices, EURweb, and Philadelphia Weekly.
Honey, a former banker and self-described "connector between soul music and those of us who love it," interviewed soul luminaries like Babyface, Chaka Khan, India.Arie, Teena Marie, Ron Isley, and Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White.
Feeling her mission to promote soul music was complete, Honey closed the website in October of 2009.
