Howard Woodie McDuffie is a seasoned professional in the intermodal transport business. With 35 years of experience in the logistics of transporting liquid and dry materials in tank trucks, Mr. McDuffie knows his industry from all angles. Starting as a cement dispatcher in 1977 for Miller Transporters, Inc. of Brandon, Mississippi, Howard Woodie McDuffie spent the next decade quickly advancing in the company. He shuttled between Mississippi and Alabama to develop the company's central dispatch after deregulation of the tank truck industry in 1980, and then was promoted to Manager of Central Dispatch. Two years later, he moved into marketing and business development for Miller Transporters, starting the company's telemarketing department as it advanced into the business of intermodal (more than one kind of transportation) transport.

In 1994, Woodie McDuffie transformed Miller Transporters into Miller Intermodal Services, Inc., and served as the new company's first president. In this growth period, the company became a global tank-container operator, handling over 200 containers a month in 52 countries. Under Mr. McDuffie's leadership, the company's revenues grew to over $10 million. Five years later, Miller Intermodal made a strategic decision to stop shipping overseas in order to focus on domestic transport and on leasing tank containers.

After growing the customer base and developing many business aspects of Miller Intermodal Services, Woodie McDuffie took a position as Vice President of the Kenan Advantage Group (KAG), where he handles sales and marketing for ethanol transloading at six U.S. locations. KAG is the largest tank truck hauler in North America, transporting refined petroleum products, chemicals, and food-grade products.

In addition to his work at KAG, Mr. McDuffie donates his time and resources to Habitat for Humanity, the Boy Scouts of America, and Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoys fishing, travel, and his grandchildren.
