Aman Sharma

Aman Sharma is an Assistant Professor (Economics) in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh (India) at Government Degree College Sihunta, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh (India). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) from Panjab University, Chandigarh (India). He holds a MA in Business Economics [Gold Medal], a PG Diploma in Population Studies (PGDPS) [Gold Medal], and an MPhil degree in Economics from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla (India). He is currently pursuing a PhD from the Department of Economics, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharamshala (India), and is also completing a PG Diploma in Applied Statistics (PGDAST) and an MA in Jyotish (MAJY) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi (India). He has also qualified for UGC-NET in Economics and Management. He has two years of teaching experience as a Lecturer (Economics) in the Department of Management & Humanities, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh (India). He also has more than three years of research experience in rural development, environmental economics and development economics as a research assistant/investigator. As a researcher, he has been associated with reputed institutions like Population Research Centre (PRC), Shimla (India), Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Shimla (India), National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad (India), and Lakehead University, Ontario (Canada). He is a visiting faculty at the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Shimla (India). He has edited a book and presented nine research papers at national and international conferences. He has published a research paper in peer-reviewed journal and contributed three book chapters in edited books. He has also authored a research paper in a peer-reviewed journal and has provided contributions to three chapters in edited books. He is a life member of the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics (ISAE), Mumbai (India). Furthermore, he is also an Academic Counselor at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi (India). His areas of expertise are business/managerial economics, agricultural economics, and development economics. His areas of interest include engineering economics, environmental economics, rural economics, demography/population economics, and education economics.
