Hussein Rashid
Public Speaker, Consultant, and Writer in New York
I am an academic, an advocate, a speaker, a doer, a believer.
A born and bred New Yorker, I did my undergraduate at Columbia before going to Harvard to get a Master's in Theological Studies, and a PhD in Indo-Muslim Cultures.
I am fascinated by the theology of Shi'ism, and have a strong interest in the Muslim communities in the US. My main intellectual concern is about the representation and self-representation of Muslims in American popular culture.
In addition to my academic background, I believe I need to turn my knowledge to practical works. I consult on foreign policy, development, and get my hands dirty in interfaith engagement.
