Advocate. Resilient. Wildcard.

Samentha “Sam” Jackson has had a love of connecting with people and bringing their events to life at an early age. Sam wanted to take her love of planning further and earned her certification as a Certified Special Events Planner (CSEP) as well as an International Event and Wedding Planner (IEWP) in 2015. Sam currently thrives as the Manager of Events at a D.C. boutique planning firm.

Over the last several years, Sam has served her community through strategic and creative communications services. Some past clients have included Nike, American Heart Association and SAMHSA. With a strong background in curating original content, Sam served as a “Food Critic” for Examiner.com (now AXS), an online newspaper publication where she wrote for over 250,000 monthly subscribers. Ranked as #1 Food Examiner in DC and #5 Food Examiner in the nation in 2014, Sam's passion for delivering useful content to her readers was always her goal.

Sam also holds a Diploma of Distinction in Digital Marketing. When Sam is not writing, or off planning a wedding or corporate event, she does live social media coverage for various organizations such as The GRAMMYs, Global Citizen, Congressional Black Caucus, Capital Press Club, and BET just to name a few.

Community involvement such as being an active speaker on the Speakers Bureau for RAINN, Women Speakers Association, ColorComm, and serving as the Director of Healthcare News for Global Social Media News are just a few organizations in which she has taken pride in. The 2014 title holder of Mrs. Navy Yard and Mrs. Congeniality in the Mrs. DC America Pageant is one of her major focuses as she uses her title to continue to raise awareness against rape and sexual assault. Sam is a three-time published author, contributing to anthologies with The Diamond Writers. Sam is the proud wife to her best friend and husband and a mother to two intelligent and beautiful daughters.
