Ibrahim is a social media and communications professional working in the higher education and charity sectors.
Ibrahim currently works as a social media practitioner for the University of Cambridge, actively involved in the everyday planning, publishing and analysis of content across their main social media channels. He also operates as the Director of Communications for the Karim Foundation, a Cambridge-based charity that aims to relieve poverty by providing local emergency support for those in financial hardship.
Ibrahim has a wealth of experience across broadcast media and public relations. He was a production journalist at ITV Anglia, tasked with leading their diversity initiative for the East of England, and was a production assistant for ITV News at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. During 2019-20, he was the Social Media Officer of Cambridge Central Mosque – Europe’s first eco-mosque.
He was a ‘Regional Journalist of the Year’ finalist at the 2015 Asian Media Awards, recognised for his reports about Ramadan, local Eid celebrations and the Hajj for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
Ibrahim retains a strong interest in subjects ranging from community development to youth engagement. In his spare time, he hosts Youth Suite, a chat show podcast series providing an open space for inspiring and positive conversations on various topics of interest for today’s youth. He also enjoys watching football, cricket and tennis.
