Ihsan Shanti

A founding member of the Moroccan Society of Houston and the Jordanian American Medical Society, Ihsan Shanti, M.D., a native of Casablanca, Morocco, comes from educated stock. In the 1950s, the Shanti family owned Addefaa, a newspaper with the second largest circulation in Jordan and Palestine. The physician’s father, Dr. Fahmi Shanti, a university educator, wrote numerous textbooks, and his mother also taught at the college level. Ihsan Shanti, M.D., earned his undergraduate degree in California and his medical degree at King Edward Medical University in Pakistan. At St. Elizabeth Health Center in Ohio and Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York, he fulfilled an anesthesiology residency. Dr. Shanti completed a fellowship in pain management in Houston and also earned a Ph.D. in Health Management at Southwestern University.
