Independent Management of Properties and Communities, Inc. (IMPAC), headquartered in Manchester Township, New Jersey, possesses more than 25 years of experience serving homeowners' associations and residential cooperatives for apartment complexes, townhomes, and condominium developments. IMPAC opened its doors in 1984 under the leadership of current principals Albert (Bert) Smith and Accella Farrington-Smith. Today, the firm benefits from the business backgrounds, management expertise, and customer-oriented attitudes of its executive team. A licensed realtor, Bert Smith holds degrees in public administration and communications and he actively participates in networking and professional development through the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA). Accella Farrington-Smith commands a diverse background in accounting and office management. Also a member of the CAI and NJBIA, she maintains expertise in numerous facets of property management, including bookkeeping, litigation, and maintenance. Completing the executive team is IMPAC's General Manager, Michelle Sloan, who has earned more than a decade of industry experience. She directly oversees the company's human resources, employee training, and transition teams.
