Inmaculada Martinez
Considered by FORTUNE and TIME one of the world's leading digital media strategists, Martinez is an angel investor and a recognised commentator in the media on the digitalisation of work and life and the luxury industry. She is an advisor partner at Opus Corporate Finance LLP, a leading corporate finance advisory firm providing independent, strategic and creative advice primarily to UK and European mid-market businesses and holds various mentoring roles at BBC Worldwide Labs, Wayra and technology knowledge-transfer universities (Imperial College, UCL, Cambridge Enterprise). In 2010 she was appointed a Catalyst UK Ambassador, a UK Trade & Investment global programme where business leaders champion the UK as the world's best international business partner.
After holding executive positions at Goldman Sachs and Cable & Wireless, Inma left the corporate world to found in 2000 one of the first UK entrepreneurial ventures of the mobile era, Escape Velocity. It became one of the first providers of personalisation software to international mobile operators and handsets manufacturers and was described by Lehman Brothers as one of Europe's top 20 companies to follow. Inma continued to co-found and lead two other companies: Sense Worldwide, a company helping the likes of BBC, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, SC Johnson, Channel 4, and Unilever understand the future, and Visual Radio in Finland, which was later sold to Nokia and whose software can today be found in every multimedia handset of the Finnish mobile giant.
In 2005 she was awarded fellowship of the City of London's Information Technology Company, where she became Freeman (2007) and Liveryman (2008). She is the Chair of the Digital Media Panel.
Over years, Inma has taken executive advisory positions at HP, LG, Nokia, Blyk (Mobile MVNO), EPSON Business Council, the European Union Technology Commission, the UKTI China Mission and Sport England, the government innovation fund for sport, media and culture.
