Irvin Z Martinez

Irvin Z. Martinez balances his studies at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith with duties as a Shift Supervisor at Papa Murphy's Pizza. Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, he expects to graduate in May 2015. Irvin Z. Martinez has maintained an excellent academic record at the University of Arkansas, having attained a place on the Dean's List every semester he has been in attendance. He belongs to the student organization Phi Beta Lambda.

At Papa Murphy's Pizza since the beginning of his senior year of high school, Irvin Z. Martinez supervises coworkers, attends to customers, and supports store operations. Also earlier in high school, he worked as Library Page with the Dallas Branch Library for more than three years. During his time as a Library Page, Mr. Martinez organized two special events at the library in addition to his daily front desk duties.

Mr. Martinez led the financial and marketing ventures of Southside High School's student newspaper The Southworld as its Business Manager. In this role, he sold, designed, and placed advertisements in the newspaper. He also billed advertisers, prepared finance documents, and trained staff members on meeting sales goals. Mr. Martinez sold more than $1,000 in advertising space while he was with the paper, more than any other staff member. He was named Business Manager of the Year 2011 by the publisher of the school's paper.

Additional recognition of Irvin Z. Martinez includes the National Quill and Scroll Gold Key for Advertising in 2011. He is also the recipient of a scholarship from the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.
