I've always been simultaneously curious and indecisive. Those traits that led me to a career in journalism, and I can't imagine doing anything else. Today, my full-time gig is at Time inc.'s Money magazine, where I write about ways you can be smarter about your dough.
Other beats I swoon over: Islam and religion in general, media (new, social and otherwise) and pop culture. Oh yeah, and all things South Asian/Pakistani. So much so that, back in 2004, I founded Nirali, an online magazine for South Asians in the west. I'm also on the board of South Asian Journalists Association.
My work has been published in Money, Fortune, CNNMoney.com, MarketWatch.com, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Detroit Free Press and Michigan Alumnus magazine, among others. I'm a graduate of the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and Columbia University. Find my resume and clips here.
I'm a Midwestern girl at heart, but I live in New York, where I spend way too much money on cabs.
