Jaime Murra

Following his undergraduate studies at CESA School of Business in Bogotá, Colombia, Jaime Murra received his Bachelor of Science in Management with high merit distinction. During these years, he also earned the position of Teaching Assistant to the professor in charge of the school’s Strategic Management class. Subsequently, Jaime Murra moved to the United States to attend the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University, taking courses toward his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Following the receipt of his MBA from the Waltham, Massachusetts, institution, Jaime Murra returned to Bogotá to serve as Director of Sales and Marketing for Dicorp S.A., one of Latin America’s biggest rice millers. There, he utilized his business acumen to raise brand and company awareness through new products and advertising campaigns. One of his plans won an advertising award and increased sales by nearly 200 percent for a specific brand of rice. In recognition of Jaime Murra’s work, Dicorp S.A. promoted him to Director of Finance, where he handled a $300 million capital structure, involving herself in both long- and short-term planning. Moving to the United States for two years, Jaime Murra obtained a Master of Science in Management with a focus in Finance from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and assisted JPMorgan Chase & Co. as its Vice President of Private Placing. Eventually, Jaime Murra returned to Dicorp S.A., where he currently acts as CEO. In this position, he has drastically increased the value of the organization, buying a cooking oil company and setting a goal of making $1 billion in sales by 2013. When not leading Dicorp S.A., Jaime Murra runs marathons, including ING New York City and Boston, and participates in Ironman Triathlon competitions. He serves as President of the USA Rice Millers’ Association and member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.
