Jake lives in Hull in the northeast of England, where he serves as an assistant minister at St John's Church, Newland. In addition to sharing in the preaching and pastoral duties, he is responsible for developing and coordinating the church's community outreach work. Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he studied at Redeemer University College and trained for the ministry in the United States, at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida.

A regular blogger, Jake uses that space to reflect on ministry and theology. He is particularly interested in the Reformational tradition, the Anglican realignment and the recovery of biblical, orthodox Anglicanism, and also enjoys reading on ecclesiology, worldview, and historical theology. People are often surprised to discover that he is an avid automotive enthusiast, and happy to spend an afternoon working on a car or watching racing. He is married to Robin.
