Jamall Brown
Youth Mentor in Washington
Hello, my name is Jamall Brown I’m 28 years old and hold a Masters Degree in Education. I have experience working with youth and families in the community since 2017.
I've worked with youth from ages 5-18 providing direct 1 on 1 support and coaching with emotional regulation, coping skills, and open communication. I've worked on crisis teams, and supported youth in the community, foster homes, juvenile detention and in schools. This work has led me to take various roles including case manager, social worker, youth peer counselor, and currently now employed as a School Counselor.
As a youth, I struggled with emotional control, communication, and social skills due to my homelessness and lack of relationship with my parents and siblings. I wasn’t able to access resources for a mentor, “big brother”, peer partner etc.
In being a mentor, my plan is to fully dedicate myself to providing the highest quality service, coaching, engagement and resources for your child. My goal is to help your child gain independence skills, self advocacy, honesty, coping skills, open communication and more.
Long term, I plan on opening up a nonprofit organization dedicated to servicing youth and families of lower socioeconomic status.
I currently provide direct One on One Youth Mentoring in King, Pierce & Thurston County. If you have any further questions about me, please feel free to call or email. I look forward to meeting with you soon! 🙋🏾♂️
