James Gomez

Since retiring from Goldman Sachs, James Gomez, resident of Watermill, NY, has focused his attention on giving back to the community, especially through his involvement with educational institutions. An alumnus of the Columbia University Law School, Mr. Gomez currently serves on the school’s Board of Visitors. The Board, which is appointed by the University’s President and Trustees, focuses on a variety of issues regarding the law school’s educational opportunities and direction, while also fostering communication between alumni and the administration. James Gomez also is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Lehman College Foundation, as well as contributing to various charitable causes in his community of Watermill, New York.

In addition to his Juris Doctor from Columbia, James Gomez holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University. Mr. Gomez spent his entire 30-year career with the renowned investment bank, Goldman Sachs. As a Managing Director in the Public Sector and Infrastructure Banking Group, Mr. Gomez advised state and local governments on bond issuance and other financing opportunities, some of which earned the distinction of "Deal of the Year" by various industry publications.
