James Bicher MD

James Bicher, MD, founded Bicher Cancer Institute, formerly known as Valley Cancer Institute, in 1984. The clinic stands as the nation's leading research and treatment center in the use of hyperthermia as a means to advance cancer treatment. Before moving to the United States in 1968, James Bicher, MD, studied and worked in Israel. The Bicher Cancer Institute utilizes a state-of-the-art facility in Los Angeles, which provides the capacity to treat nearly 60 patients each day. James Bicher, MD, and the Bicher Cancer Institute’s team have developed a distinctive method of applying heat to cancer cells, called hyperthermia, which has been shown to reduce the required levels of conventional treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation. James Bicher, MD, has worked extensively in health care and has taught as an Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Wayne State University, and in the State University of New York system. Before founding his clinic, he worked as the Director of the Non-Ionizing Radiation Treatment Center at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and served for three years at the hyperthermic clinic of the Western Tumor Medical Group in Van Nuys, California. Dr James Bicher has been treating cancer patients using Hyperthermia combined with Low-Dose-Radiation since 1884, making him one of the pioneers on this alternative cancer treatment. Hyperthermia is considered the fourth modality of cancer treatment along with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.
