James is a dancer whose act can best be described as a crossover between ballet and freestyle disco. He manages to fuse the poise and gracefulness of ballet with the energetic and gymnastic moves of freestyle disco. He has been described by the media as a real life 'Billy Elliot'.

James was born and brought up in the North East of England in a small seaside town called Redcar. He is one of twins and both, along with their elder brother, were diagnosed with Autism early in life.

James tiptoe-walked and as a result the tendons in his legs were very tight. He had to wear splints on both legs along with orthopaedic boots. James and his twin attended a special school locally.

His story began when he discovered dancing at 8 years old. His world changed forever. His tendons stretched naturally and very soon, he no longer needed the splints and boots. He began reading and writing and gained confidence, enabling him to make friends for the first time in his life.

James has found a real passion in dancing and a way to express himself to music; something that his parents never thought would be possible. His dream is to be a classical ballet dancer in a big company when he is older. He has continued to study freestyle disco and ballet and has recently been offered a scholarship to a prominent ballet school, The Hammond School, where he is a full-time pupil.

In his own words, he is "living the dream.. just like Billy Elliot!"
