James Watts

I've been involved in Open Source since around 2008, and using PHP for the last 10 years. I'm a core member of CakePHP, working with the framework since 2009, and mostly involved in enterprise PHP development.

I'm also the organizer of CakeFest, the annual CakePHP conference, and am currently the acting director of the Cake Development Corporation (CakeDC), the commercial entity behind the framework, along with Larry Masters, the founder of CakePHP.

I lead the development of other Open Source projects, such as the nano JavaScript framework, as well as maintaining some CakePHP plugins on GitHub.

I'm an author of the CakePHP 2 Application CookBook, published by Packt Publishing (ISBN 978-1-78216-008-3), and also authored various specifications, such as the Extended Hyper-text Transfer Protocol (XHTTP), the Documentation Mark-up Language (DocML), X-Messages and Argument Based Access Control (ABAC).
