Janet Blackwell-Rockenbaugh Elementary

I have the distinct honor of being the Principal of Rockenbaugh Elementary. I will be celebrating my 14th year working for Carroll ISD. Excited, thrilled and exhilarated are just a few words that describe this upcoming year of working with such great staff and families.

My aspiration is to guide students to look at their life like a race. They must run their own race, implying that they should not compare themselves to others, but instead embrace their unique talents and abilities. If they are distracted by how others are running, they will not discover their course in life.

In my spare time, my husband and I love to train for marathons. I have completed eighteen marathons including the 2013, 2014, and 2015 Boston Marathon. When I am not running, I enjoy reading, baking and watching movies curled up on the couch with my two dogs, Bo and Belle.
