I am currently an Entertainment Attorney after many years working in the entertainment industry. I am employed at Viacom, but I began my career in radio at Emmis Communications. I started at 98.7 Kiss FM in the promotions & marketing dept. where I got my start writing for the masses. In addition to my "fiction writing," I interviewed the celebrity guests at the station and at concerts for the website.

During this time, I began working at Jive Records in the Side Artist & Sample clearances (legal) department. A part of my job was helping to identify samples in music the label was releasing; a great job for the music lover I am. It felt like our own version of name that tune. After some time, I went on to join the programming department at Hot 97. It was at Hot 97 that my true love for music was tapped into every day and I loved it! I spent most days scheduling what music would play, when and after what song, which was me being somewhat of a DJ. I spent a lot of time booking guests, listening to music and preparing for our music meetings which is where we decided which new music to add to the stations rotation, which songs to increase or decrease spins on or which ones had run its course. Boy were those meetings interesting at times. I also continued to interview the celebrity guests for the website, among other things.

During these years I also wrote many articles for publications, including Vibe, XXL, The Source, to name a few. I still have my first published article (a Source Magazine music review) in a frame in my home. While writing and interviewing these artists, I had the chance to enjoy my love of writing & journalism.

Being me, always looking for growth & new challenges, while working at Hot 97 I enrolled in law school. I had taken the LSAT before I started there and it was an incomplete goal- and I'm not a fan of incomplete goals. To add to this exciting change in my life, I received a book deal. After some time, my experience as an author and life experiences gave me some insight regarding life, love & relationships which led to my time as the advice columnist for King Magazine.

I am now an entertainment lawyer; merging my love for music/entertainment with my knowledge of the law and my passion for 'fairness.' My music career, writing and legal education led me to where I am today, and although I am very proud most of my life goals have been achieved- I am still not done just yet.
