Jan Rosenberg

New York

Jan Rosenberg wrote her first short shory in the 3rd grade. It was called 'The Green Slime,' and may have been slightly ripped off from an R.L Stine book. She later redeemed herself by taking advanced fiction workshops from ages 12-18. She received her B.A in Playwriting & Fiction from The New School. Her play 'Do Not Leave Unattended' was one of 4 plays selected for a professional public reading through ESPA at Primary Stages, directed by Daniella Topol and staged at 59E59. In 2010, she was selected for The LAByrinth Theater's Summer Intensive Ensemble, where she took workshops with Stephen Adly Guirgis, Padraic Lillis, Shira-Lee Shalit, Andrea Ciannavei, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Previous works include Just Like Her (New York Madness), Alive and Well (Crashbox Theater Company), The Discarded (Vertigo Theater Company), Tact (Manhattan Theater Repertory, SANDRep (reading) and Sweet (MITF). She has also been featured in the First New York Indie One Minute Play Festival. She is a student at The Annie Einhorn School of Playwriting, and has taken classes with Winter Miller, Anne Washburn, Sheila Callaghan, Rob Askins, Ken Urban and Edwin Sanchez. She writes features, interviews and reviews for Show Business Weeklyand Theater Is Easy..

Recently, she has signed with Abrams Artists Agency and is currently being represented as a playwright by literary agent Amy Wagner.

R.L Stine has refused to comment on the possibly intentional elementary school plagarism.
