Jarno Glenn de Vries
musician / home studio recording engineer / web designer / photography
Jarno has been playing the keyboard since age 11, over the years made a slight a transition towards a more piano-based playing style. With a passion for computers/tech he started experimenting with midi recording and beatmaking within Fruityloops.
At age 17, he started playing acoustic guitar. A few years later, dad bought his first electric guitar + amplifier and a new interest was found.
During high school, to earn some pocket money, he started designing/developing websites for some friends and local companies. Later on, with his friend Frank Martin, he co-founded 'De Grafikus' webdesign/hosting.
Jarno has some experience with:
- programming: HTML / CSS / PHP
- software: Dreamweaver / Adobe Photoshop
After high school Jarno started working at Eurodisc Muziek, as a shop assistant.
While working there he learned a lot of practical experience, in the field of: musical instruments, music teaching, studio recording, and live sound facilities.
Later on, Jarno also started teaching music at Eurodisc Muziek, keyboard/piano and guitar.
Meanwhile, the home studio had grown into something a bit more serious.
In the studio, Jarno likes to capture his sounds/instruments, composes songs/soundscapes and records Youtube covers/videosongs.
Jarno is using:
- hardware: Mac mini, M-Audio Fast Track Ultra, 2x Yamaha HS80M, AKG C214
- software / plugins: Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0, Waves Native Power Pack, Spectrasonics Omnisphere
Currently, he is still working at Eurodisc Muziek and is looking to attend music college next year.
