Jason J. McFarland, PhD

De Pere, Wisonsin

Newly-minted Assistant Professor of Ritual/Liturgical Studies & Sacramental Theology.

From 2012 to 2014 I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in China at Zunyi Normal College (Guizhou). Join the Peace Corps! It's Time Well Spent. I worked another year in China as a TEFL Technical Trainer for the new China Volunteers (Chengdu, Sichuan) and at Star Source Foreign Language School (Zunyi). And now, back to the (academic) races.

Mastering the wok and Guizhou cuisine are among obsessions. Follow my blog to see the progress and get a glimpse of this food culture, which is relatively unknown outside (or even inside) China. I still dream of British Columbia pinot noir, small batch bourbon, and roquefort, but I've come to appreciate Moutai and stinky tofu.

I also have a keen interest in astronomy/space exploration, quantum physics, social justice/societal change, and third-level spirituality/meditation.

If we have something in common, let's connect.

Welcome to my hometown! ...as my Chinese students of English would always say.
