Javier Alvarado

Engineer Javier Alvarado has had an illustrious career in the oil and energy sectors, which began after he graduated from one of Venezuela’s most prestigious universities, Simon Bolivar University, where he studied electrical engineering and energy management. During his time there, Javier Alvarado also gained leadership and communication skills that served him well over the course of his 34 years in management.

After college, Javier Alvarado became a project development manager with Lagoven and gradually took on additional responsibilities, ultimately moving to the planning infrastructure division. In 1997, he left Lagoven to work for Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), where he took on a number of executive positions, including president of PDVSA West Intevep and Electricidad de Caracas.

Today, Mr. Alvarado is an advisor for a professional food services firm and a marketing company as well as a project analyst for Logscargo. He also serves as a financial and commercial risk advisor for Consulta Sociedad de Corretaje.

In addition to his training at Simon Bolivar University, Mr. Alvarado completed the managing technology and innovation program of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
