Brantley Hightower

San Antonio, Texas

I am an architect who believes that good design can and should be accessible to everyone. That's one of the reasons I founded HiWorks, an office dedicated to the proposition that an innovative, functional and beautiful built environment can improve individual lives and thus make the world a better place.

I've held visiting and adjunct professorships at a number of schools including the University of Texas at Austin, The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Tech University and Trinity University. I'm also a regular contributor to Texas Architect magazine and have had essays published in Platform, Constructs and Pidgin architectural journals.

Since 2008, I've been engaged in a project to document and analyze the courthouses of central Texas. In addition to lecturing on this topic, a book documenting this work is scheduled to be published in 2014.
