Respect is the basis of all love - including the love that we call friendship. Be slow to judge, quick to forgive. This I learned the hard way, when my once best Christian friend suddenly discovered that I'm not a miracle guy who never makes any stupid mistakes. My friendship was being dumped like it meant nothing. It was a quite traumatic experience and it took a long time to get over it. But, ever since this tragic event, I will always tell people that if they really want the world to be better place, you cannot shy away from being hurt a little, and quite often. I don't think that the pursuit of feeling secure is a very humane thing to do. Don't try to be so secure - try being human instead. And if you can't do that, then no religion, no belief system and no pursuit of spirituality will be able to solve this for you.
