Jean Simon

Trained in laparoscopy, acupuncture, preventive care, and immunizations for migrant populations and pregnant women, the Medical Director of Park Avenue Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Jean Simon commands 32 years of experience as a medical practitioner. As a student at the University of Medicine Paris V (also known as Paris Descartes University), Dr. Jean Simon performed internships at various hospitals throughout Paris. Following the receipt of his MD, Dr. Jean Simon completed a fellowship with the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and conducted several residencies in obstetrics, gynecology, and general surgery at Hôpital Bichat, St. Luke’s Medical Center at Roosevelt Hospital, and Boston City Hospital.

Dr. Jean Simon launched Park Avenue Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1988. Based in New York City, Dr. Jean Simon began concurrently offering his services as an Attending Physician to Beth Israel Medical Center and Beth Israel Medical Center North Division in 1990, and he held these positions until 2003. While monitoring the status of his private patients, Dr. Jean Simon taught and supervised students and house personnel rotating through the department as well. He also participated in the North Division’s Quality Assurance program and, during shifts on the labor floor, attended all high-risk deliveries.

In 1991 Dr. Jean Simon also accepted a position as an Attending Physician with The Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he served as an instructor to students and staff members in the obstetrics and gynecology department and fulfilled many of the same responsibilities as assigned to him in his role with Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Jean Simon’s tenure with The Mount Sinai Medical Center ended in 2009. Since 2001 he has operated as an Attending Physician at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in addition to presiding over his private practice.
