I'm the San Francisco bureau chief at Inc. magazine, where I write and edit stories about technology and entrepreneurship. I write about people like visionary investor Peter Thiel, 23andMe founder Anne Wojcicki and Twitter CEO Dick Costolo. I'm also writing a book about the sports science behind the longevity of elite athletes, to be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Before joining Inc., I spent four years at Forbes covering tech and media. My work there included cover stories on Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr and a feature on the Green Bay Packers.

I've also covered the media business for AOL and WWD and been a part of two magazine startups, Conde Nast Portfolio and Radar.

On the side, I've written for The New York Times, GQ, Details and Playboy, among other outlets. This Playboy Interview with Nick Denton is one of my favorite things I've published.

I grew up in Milwaukee and lived in New York for 15 years before moving out to San Francisco in 2014.
