Jeff Coble grew up exploring the barrier islands and mountains of North Carolina. After High School he was stationed on the island of Nantucket, performing search and rescue in the North Atlantic while serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. After his enlistment he spent his summers crewing luxury yachts between New England and the Caribbean and his winters snowboarding the resorts of Colorado and Utah. While in Vail, CO he was recruited by AmeriCan Adventures as a cross-country guide, leading 42 day tours of the United States, Canada and Mexico. After exploring much of North America there were still many places Jeff wanted to experience for longer periods of time. He went on to live and guide in; Teton National Park, Glacier National Park, Everglades National Park, the Florida Keys, Canada’s Yukon Territory, many parts of Alaska and all the Hawaiian Islands. He has traveled extensively in all 50 states and over 30 countries. He holds a USCG 200 Ton Captains License, is an ACA Certified Kayak Instructor, a Certified Master Naturalist, trained backcountry Medical Care Provider and Certified Scuba Diver. Two of his fondest experiences were climbing to the summit of Grand Teton Mountain in Wyoming and living in a tent on a remote beach in Hawaii with no modern amenities. Jeff also holds many maritime accomplishments; he has sailed above the Arctic Circle, has transatlantic and transpacific crossings, including passages through the Suez and Panama Canals, he also has one circumnavigation to his credit while working as a Merchant Mariner on a U.S. Flagged ship that provided humanitarian aid to countries around the world for the United Nations. With over 20 years of guide experience Jeff has led thousands of tours for clients from all around the world. He has explored pristine water caves in the Philippines, ridden elephants in the jungles of Thailand, swam with sharks off the coast of Sudan, partied for days in Cartagena, Colombia, been stranded without a passport in Sicily, floated in the Dead Sea, hiked through fields of flowing lava in Hawaii and jumped out of an airplane over the Mojave desert. After many years of owning and operating watersports operations in North Carolina & Florida Jeff decided to settle down and spend time between Maui, Park City & San Diego with his wife Recille and their son Kullen. Interesting fact: Jeff has lived on 7 different islands; Nantucket, Oak Island, Maui, Big Island, Oahu, Islamorada and Prince of Whales.
