Jeffeory Hynes Phoenix PD

Former Phoenix PD Police Commander Jeffeory Hynes currently instructs students at Glendale Community College as a Professor with the Administration of Public Safety Department. Since joining the College in September, 2011, he has taught five courses per semester while serving as a liaison between Glendale and area universities to provide students with a smooth transition between junior college and higher learning institutions. Jeffeory Hynes maintains involvement with the Phoenix PD as a founding member of the police department's athletic club and as an advisor to the club's board of directors.

Prior to joining Glendale Community College, Jeffeory Hynes served the police department for more than three decades. At the time of his retirement from the force, Hynes led the Black Mountain and Desert Horizon precincts as their Commander. As Commander from December 2010 to September 2011, he supervised nearly 400 personnel, as well as all police activities within his purview.

During his career in the police force, Jeffeory Hynes held numerous ranked and unranked positions in different departments, beginning with the role of police officer in 1979. After attaining the rank of Sergeant in 1986, Hynes advanced steadily, achieving the rank of Lieutenant in 1989. In 1996, he received the assignment of Patrol Area Manager for the Central City Precinct, a position he held for more than five years. Three years later, in 2004, Hynes earned the honor of being named Commander of the Phoenix PD Tactical Support Bureau. He has also served as Commander of the Central City Precinct, Commander of the Family Investigations Bureau, and Commander of the Professional Standards Bureau.
