I am a faculty member in the Dept. of Psychology at Rowan University, where I teach, do research, and mentor students who are interested in Psychology & Health. I also have faculty appointments at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) and at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM), where I maintain active research collaborations. My research focuses on understanding the connection between being mindfuland being healthy. I am especially interested in how mindfulness meditation impacts biological pathways (e.g., neurotransmitters, stress hormones, immune cells, blood pressure, and gene expression) and behaviors (e.g., sleep, eating habits, physical activity, and substance use) that are important for mental & physical health. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I specialize in integrating mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients treat and prevent stress-related health problems, from depression and insomnia, to high blood pressure and chronic pain.
