A prominent figure in the intellectual property field, attorney Jeffrey Navon brings more than 25 years of legal experience to his current role as Senior Patent Counsel and Group Manager for the Signal Acquisition and Modulation, Networks and Watermarking group of Thomson Licensing LLC, a division of Technicolor. In his leadership position with the firm, he is responsible for overseeing all patent-related activity, including litigation, infringement analysis, and patent applications. In addition to his work as an attorney with Thomson Licensing, Jeffrey Navon frequently appears as a guest lecturer at professional seminars around the world.
Jeffrey Navon studied at Drexel University and Muhlenberg College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Muhlenberg before going on to complete his Juris Doctor at the Villanova University School of Law. He began his career as an attorney in 1986 with Woodcock Washburn LLP in Philadelphia. Over the next decade, he gained experience in patent law while serving as partner for several other prominent legal firms, including Duane Morris and Klehr Harrison.
Prior to his current position with Thomson Licensing LLC, Jeffrey Navon acted as a Senior Attorney for AT&T. In his position with the international telecommunications company, he handled all aspects of patent prosecution both in the United States and abroad. He also played a key role in several appeals of cable television and interactive television patent cases before the European Patent Office. In 2001, he left AT&T to take his current position with Thomson Licensing.
An active member of the patent law field, Jeffrey Navon holds memberships in professional organizations such as the Philadelphia Intellectual Property Law Association, the United States Patent Bar/European Patent Office Liaison Council, and the International Intellectual Property Society, where he sits on the Board of Directors.
