ACTIVIST

After 911, when Corporate America painfully endured lay-offs and cut-backs, Jennifer took advantage of the opportunity to teach within the public school system, and through supplemental interaction with students – beyond the traditional focus of reading, writing, and arithmetic – she discovered that a large percentage of the high school population were engaging in unhealthy life choices.

Through experiences, Jennifer identified the clear connection of influence between entertainment (pop culture) and youth. Therefore, it was decided that arts and entertainment would serve as the conduit to promote self-respect, girl/women empowerment and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle; hence, the birth of S.T.A.R. Foundation.
