Jermyn K.Y. Voon, BBA

Jermyn is a community leader, political activist and young business professional in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He is currently a Board Member (Publicity Committee) and Social Media Manager of the Canadian Club of Calgary. Jermyn graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Management with a Marketing Minor & an Accounting Option and a Business Administration Diploma, both from Mount Royal University’s Bissett School of Business (Alberta, Canada) in 2013. While attending university, he took on various student leadership roles such as when he served as the Commissioner to VP Student Life & the Business Faculty Academic Representative of the MRU Students’ Association, where he participated in the Strategic Planning Focus Group & the Council Engagement Committee. In these roles, he actively encouraged his peers to be involved in the student decision making process and provided strategies on how to increase student engagement at the university.

He has also managed the social media of AIESEC Calgary, increasing Twitter following from 269 to 800. Jermyn has work experience at both the federal (Canada Revenue Agency) & provincial (Alberta) levels of governments, in addition to the private and non-profit sectors, in various roles related to accounting, event planning, document control & social media marketing.

Active in the community, Jermyn has been either been a member or has volunteered with numerous political campaigns and non-profit organizations including the Calgary Rotary Club (Social Media Manager), Calgary 2012, Société Macdonald-Cartier Society (Founding Board), Spread the Love & Free the Children We Day. He is passionate about civic engagement, especially with getting youth more involved in politics and public discourse.
