Jerry Yu is a successful Senior Associate at KPMG LLP, which is a highly-regarded national audit, tax and advisory services firm. Yu’s responsibilities include work for C-Corporations, S-Corporations, LLC’s, organizations, trusts and high net worth individuals. Yu is also tasked with completing extensive research on multifaceted matters, including reverse like-kind exchanges, liquidating distributions of hot assets, as well as in-depth stock option planning tax calculations. He excels at tax planning for personal finances, business planning, ownership succession strategies, and estate planning techniques.
His background includes many educational accomplishments. Yu attended Theisen Junior High School in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin where he received “Outstanding Achievement and Excellence” in all subjects and elective classes. Other accomplishments include 1st Place in the Fond du Lac City Spelling Bee, Champion of the Current Events Tournament, and the “Outstanding Musical Accomplishment” award for his ability to play the piano, violin, viola, cello, and bass. Jerry studied at the University of California at Berkeley, where he was an honors and Dean’s List student and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He participated in the university’s education abroad program where he lived and studied in China, and then upon returning, placed 1st in the Annual Mandarin Speech Contest sponsored by the Chinese Language Teachers Association. After graduating, Yu studied at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate, LL.M in Asian and Comparative (International) Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation. There, he was also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law International Fraternity and was an Award Participant in the School’s Graduate’s Student Exchange Program, for which he again studied overseas at the internationally renowned National Taiwan University’s School of Law in Taipei.

Yu spends his free time playing the piano for local nursing homes and working with other various charitable organizations with which he is involved. Currently, Yu offers his time to the Santa Clara Valley Humane Society and the Children’s Discovery Museum.
