Jessica Jacobs

Oxford, United Kingdom

Who?

See the top of the page for a clue. Otherwise, I’m an aspiring copywriter with experience in the travel, translation and publishing industries and an interest in wildlife, video games and films.

What?

I’ll happily take online articles, press releases, newsletters or direct mail letters off your hands.

Where?

The magic of the internet means you can contact me from anywhere, but I live in Oxford in the U.K.

Why?

I can offer passionate, good quality content as well as some multi-lingual research on the side.

I am on course for an A grade in a Diploma in Copywriting from the Blackford Centre for Copywriting, and a forthcoming contributor to Wolf Print, the UK Wolf Conservation Trust’s flagship magazine.

I run three blogs about film, travel and astronomy.

In my current role as a Production Editor at the publisher Taylor and Francis I am constantly checking academic articles before publication. Simply put, I am able to poke my nose into a wide variety of subjects and emerge with a genuine interest.

My previous job for Holiday Lettings Ltd saw me checking holiday property adverts for quality and advising home owners to trumpet their rooftop pool instead of their air conditioners.

In 2008 I completed a Masters in Translation (French and Italian) and Professional Language Skills (editing and proofreading) from Bath University.

Fun fact: my dissertation was an Italian to English translation of a dinosaur encyclopedia. I’d like to think that the distinction I received was based on courage as well as skill.

I have a 2:1 Bachelor’s Degree in French and Italian from Royal Holloway University.

When I was 16 I wrote my first novel, but the world wasn’t ready for a gory dinosaur soap opera. If you so wish you can relive the horror here
