Jessica Solomon is the founding Executive Director at Art in Praxis, a capacity building company that specializes in placing art and culture at the center of community engagement, coalition building, program design and organizational growth. The company places priority on arts, culture, and equity as essential tools to build and sustain communities. Jessica has worked in non-profit management and capacity building for almost 10 years. Prior to establishing Art in Praxis, she provided consultation to dozens of Washington, DC youth-serving nonprofits as a Capacity Building Specialist at Fair Chance. She spent 4 years as Producing Artistic Director at The Saartjie Project, an award-winning ensemble that explored intersectionality through devised theatre community arts, and was the Manager of School Placement at Higher Achievement. Jessica is widely recognized as an emerging leader in community cultural development, and is a skilled trainer, practitioner and group facilitator. Jessica is also a Cultural Agent with the U.S. Department of Arts and Culture, the nation's newest "people powered" department, a proud Board Member at Alternate ROOTS, a network supporting artists and cultural workers based in the South and an Advisor to public design firm, MakeDC.

She received her BA from University of Maryland, College Park and her MS in Organization Development from American University.
