Jewel Buckman

Hedge fund manager, Jewel Anne Buckman has owned a seat on the Chicago Board of Trade for three years. As such, she can trade electronically. For seven years, she acted as an independent commodities broker/trader, buying and selling S&P, Dow, and agricultural futures; precious metals; oil; currency and financial options; and other items through MF Global. Jewel Buckman currently trades through RJ O'Brien & Associates, an independent firm handling futures brokerage and clearing. She's also working toward obtaining a real estate license, seeking opportunities to develop residential properties.

At DePaul University in Chicago, Jewel Anne Buckman studied voice and opera in the DePaul School of Music while earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Possessing a dramatic, lyric voice, she has sung the national anthem at a 9/11 event sponsored by the City of Chicago and sung at an Illinois Valley Community Hospital Foundation event. In addition, Jewel Anne Buckman sings to patients in local hospitals.

The hedge fund manager and opera singer played tennis in high school and continues to enjoy the sport recreationally. She also engages in distance running, road and mountain biking, ATV riding, downhill skiing, and swimming. An enthusiastic kayaker, Jewel Buckman pursues the sport in Bodega Bay, San Francisco, Drake's Bay, and the Russian River in California. A scuba diver as well, Jewel Anne Buckman has traveled to Grand Cayman Island, Belize, and the Bahamas for scuba diving adventures. On Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California, she enjoys zip lining. In other pursuits, Jewel Buckman owns acreage near Princeton, Illinois, which she actively farms.
