If you are viewing my bio, then chances are good that we've met somewhere along the way. Maybe we had a conversation at a restaurant, a gas station, or even at an airline ticket counter. Maybe we shared a cup of coffee together in a duck blind. Whatever the reason, I'm glad you're here!
I have an amazing life. I am blessed with a wonderful family and great friends. The greatest source of joy in my life, however, is the life I live in Jesus Christ. You see, there was a time in my life that, based on the truths that I saw in the Bible, I came to realize that I was a sinner, and that my sin separated me from a holy God. No, I had never done anything too terrible, but I had definitely sinned--I had broken God's law. Then I came to realize that my sin brought about a serious penalty: God is loving, but God is just, and a just God must punish sin…my sin. One day, I would have to face God's judgment. How many laws must one break to become a lawbreaker? Just one. I knew right away that I had a serious problem! I was a sinner, and the penalty of sin is death and eternal separation from God! I didn't like the sound of that!
But thankfully, I found hope. God made a way for our relationship with Him to be restored through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus came to die on the cross and to pay sin's penalty as a substitute for His people. All those who repent of their sin and trust in Jesus alone for salvation are delivered from the penalty of sin and the coming judgment. This good news is called the “gospel," and it is the most important thing we can ever know!
