I have a bit too much education, combined with a small variety of experiences around developing programs that meet hidden (or not-so-hidden) needs. I've employed universal precautions. I've been the only white person in a city rec facility filled with 400 people. I've watched families be legalized and I've watched foster kids turn 18 with no support. I have packaged grants for research, education, and healthcare, and I've used social media to get grant proposals submitted in time. I know a good bit about Appalachian health - and it inspires me to keep on keeping on. I've developed the best Bad Day Brownies recipe, and I'm pretty happy with my blueberry white chocolate sweet rolls. There are things I'm still learning, and things I'd like to learn. But as long as I'm helping someone find their smile again, I'm smiling, too.
