Jim Holden

James Holden works as Chief Deputy Treasurer and General Counsel for Richard Mourdock, the 53rd Indiana State Treasurer. Jim Holden began his career in 1996 by serving as a Congressional Aide for U.S. Representative John Hostettler. Three years later, he became the Assistant Director of the Indiana State Lobby Registration Commission, a position he held from 1999 to 2002. Next, he worked as Deputy Attorney General for the Office of the Indiana Attorney General for three years. In 2005, Jim Holden assumed the role of Deputy Insurance Commissioner. He accepted his current position in 2007.

Jim Holden teaches political science at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis as an Adjunct Professor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Indiana University and a Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis. A Captain and Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve, he completed the Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course and the Judge Advocate Officer Advanced Course. Jim Holden is licensed to practice law in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
