Joe Amicone

At present, Joe Amicone acts as Senior Vice President of Program Development for Greenlight Energy Group, LLC, a renewable energy marketer based in Troy, New York. Mr. Amicone's duties include forging strategic alliances with municipalities, municipal agencies and businesses for the company's Green Power Communities program. Through the initiative, Joe Amicone upholds a commitment not only to promoting sustainability through the use of renewable energy, but also to extending economic incentives to the participant groups.
In his role at Greenlight, Joe Amicone draws on a diverse range of experience. He previously served Harris Beach PLLC as Senior Counsel, a role in which he represented industrial development agencies, developers and municipalities throughout the state. In addition, he handled adminsitrative proceedings before state agencies such as New York State Homes and Community Renewal and the New York State Public Service Commission. Earlier, he served as Assistant Counsel to the Governor of New York. In this capacity, he advised on legislation and other matters related to energy, economic development and public authorities.
Joe Amicone additionally worked as an attorney in the Litigation Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office, where he primarily concentrated his efforts on civil rights cases. His other experience includes roles as attorney for several private practices in New York, such as The Rose Law Firm, PLLC; Scarzafava & Basdekis; and Carter, Conboy, et al., PC. He began his career with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Joe Amicone holds a BA in English from Le Moyne College and an MA in Public Communications from Fordham University. He obtained his JD in 1997 from Albany Law School, where he graduated cum laude.
