I'm a writer of fiction. Every day I wake up thinking of what I'm going to write about, then I sit down and I do it. It rarely is easy. In fact, the easiest part of writing is coming up with excuses not to do it.
My current focus is on short stories. Recently I discovered they're a great way to explore metaphors and ideas. Besides, you can tell much faster if they're working or not. You may spend months on a novel before you figure out it's worthless. With a short story you know in a matter of hours or days.
My favorite short story is "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" by Hemingway and my favorite novel varies with my mood. Right now it's a tie between "The Long Goodbye" by Raymond Chandler and "The Black Dahlia" by James Ellroy.
The link above leads to my Write On profile. I'll be posting a new short story (or part of one) there every Friday. I hope you'll look forward to that.
Thank you for reading!
