Joe Sutton

Trenton

Joe Sutton is a freelance writer, proofreader and poet residing in central New Jersey.

While studying at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, Joe got his start by sniffing out local events and gallery openings, which he covered and reviewed for The GROUND Magazine and the now-defunct Brooklyn Exposed. Extending from the arts to an interest in marketing, Joe covered behind-the-scenes peeks into prominent advertising campaigns for Resource Magazine. You can also find some of his interviews on the Huffington Post.

Since graduating from the Pratt Institute in 2013 with a BFA in Writing for Publication, Performance and Media, Joe has written advertising copy, marketing materials and blog posts for various services and publications. He is a current contributor to IndieReader as well as the Home Wizards, where he blogs regularly.

Priding himself on his ability to research information and boil it down quickly, Joe enjoys learning and writing about all sorts of topics--but his main areas of expertise are publishing & literature, the arts, home & garden and design. As for his personal, creative writing, Joe is obsessed with the internet, augmented reality, virtual spaces and interactive narratives. He might also spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about Pokémon.

You can read Black Sun Contact, his book of poetry that explores virtuality and surveillance through the lens of a walk across the United States via Google Streetview, for free by clicking here.
